Winter/Spring Art Classes -- January through May 2010
All Art Classes are now available by appointment. Please call at least two days in advance.

Call and schedule an appointment for morning or afternoon classes select from one of the following mediums:

Acrylic Painting - Paint with different tools for different background and foreground effects.

Beading - Learn about different materials for bead stringing, color, composition, bead shapes, different techniques for finishing the ends and how to make your own clasps.

Charcoal - Learn to use different types of charcoal and papers and how to shade objects using blending techniques.

Clay - Make a Vessel or Sculpture out of Clay, air dry and paint or seal final piece

Ink Prints - Learn to make your own rubber stamps or linoleum block prints using carving tools and different types of rubber.

Oil Pastels - Experiment with oil pastels tools and techniques.

Paper - Learn to make your own paper, paper sculptures or collages.

Pencil - Learn to draw different objects in different settings, apply shading, and about perspective, vanishing points, and light sources.

Pen and Ink - Learn to use different ink tools to achieve different effects while learning about black and white composition.

Polymer Clay - Learn to make different color patterns using polymer clay and form into beads, pendants, earrings, bracelets, and cover boxes and frames with this easy to use material.

Stepping Stones - Make your own stepping stones using marbles, glass, tile, rocks, broken pottery and china , sea shells, plastic toys, stamps and more. (Require 4 or more people for this class.)

Tile Mosaics - Make a picture on a board or decorate a mirror, flower pot or box.

Water Color - Paint on different papers using different tools to achieve different effects.

Wire Wrap Jewelry - Learn how to make wire wrapped loops, closed loops, different style links, different clasps, twisted wire elements, ear wires, rings, and more.

Wire Sculpture - Learn about different types of wire and how to form it to make mobiles, sculptures or combine with other mediums.

Wood Sculpture - Carve or assemble different types of wood for unique sculptures.

Fees for all classes listed above: $20 for first family member, $15 for second family member, $10 for each additional member (Please call at least 2 days in advance to reserve a time). For all of the above classes: Recommended for ages 6 and up. Younger children may attend if an adult is able to stay and help them. Classes may be cancelled if no one preregisters or size of class is too small.

Private group, birthday parties, girl scouts, clubs, and individual sessions are available by appointment, and generally cost about $15 per person for 10 or more) call for details.

Woven and Torn Paper PMC Silver Earring Class, March 20 , April 3, May 1, 10 am to 2 pm, at Sweet Liberty Creations, 1000 Loop 332, Liberty Hill, TX 78642 512-778-5657. You will learn to weave, cut, and tear paper clay to make your own earrings. You will learn about paper PMC, how to make ear wires out of sterling silver wire, firing and finishing techniques. The class fee includes one sheet of PMC+ paper clay, sterling wire, and instruction. The class fee is $65 in paid one week in advance or $80 if paid less than a week before the class. Beginner's PMC Silver Jewelry Class with Diana Kipfer, Certified PMC Instructor and Silversmith since 1970s, March 6, March 27, April 24, and by appointment, 10 am to 5 pm, at Sweet Liberty Creations, 1000 Loop 332, Liberty Hill, TX 78642 512-778-5657. Participants will make a charm or pendant, earrings and a ring in PMC+ to learn it's properties and also how to fire a PMC piece. Metal clays allow creative spontaneity and faster results compared to traditional casting techniques. The class fee includes fine silver (PMC+) and basic toolkit for projects. The class fee is $160.00 in advance or $175.00 if paid less than a week before the class.

Example of Intermediate Class Projects

Intermediate PMC Silver jewelry Class with Diana Kipfer, Certified PMC Instructor and Silversmith since 1970s, March 13, April 10 and by appointment, 10 am to 5 pm, at Sweet Liberty Creations, 1000 Loop 332, Liberty Hill, Texas 78642, 512-778-5657, Participants will make a hollow object of their choice - sphere, vase, or funnel and learn how to do stone setting in a ring or pendant using PMC materials. 28 grams of PMC+ and 25 grams of PMC3 are included in the class fee. The class fee is $160.00 in advance or $175.00 if paid less than a week before the class.

Example of Advance Class Project

Advanced PMC Silver Jewelry Class with Diana Kipfer, Certified PMC Instructor and Silversmith since 1970s, by appointment, 10 am -5pm, at Sweet Liberty Creations, 1000 Loop 332, Liberty Hill, Texas 78642, 512-778-5657. Participants will learn construction techniques to make a box or vase and learn to apply color to the finish using gold or copper leaf, enamel or epoxy resins. 25 grams of PMC3 and finishing materials are included in the class fee. The class fee is $160.00 in advance or $175.00 if paid less than a week before the class.

Precious Metal Clay and BRONZclay Classes with Diana Kipfer, Certified PMC Instructor and Silversmith since 1970s

BRONZclay or COPPRclay Play Day, by appointment, 10 am -5pm, at Sweet Liberty Creations, 1000 Loop 332, Liberty Hill, Texas 78642, 512-778-5657. Participants will receive 100 grams of Bronzclay and toolkit for creating pendants, charms, earrings, rings and bracelets. We will work all day making creations, you will leave your bronzclay items to be fired and pick up items at a later date due to the 9 hour fire schedule. Prerequisite for this class, you must have some PMC experience. The class fee is $140.00 in advance or $165.00 if paid less than a week before the class.
